WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION

WHO

Imagine a nurse working endless shifts during an outbreak, facing burnout and trauma, or families isolated for months, children missing school, and elderly people struggling with loneliness and anxiety. During pandemics, fear, misinformation, and uncertainty often spread faster than the disease itself. Yet mental health support is rarely prioritised.

This agenda examines how prepared the world truly is for the next global health crisis, moving beyond hospitals and vaccines to focus on the human and psychological toll of emergencies. While the 2020 Pandemic Treaty aims to strengthen cooperation, resource sharing, and rapid response systems, preparedness also means protecting mental and emotional wellbeing.

delegates will evaluate global readiness, strengthen healthcare coordination, and design resilience frameworks that ensure communities are not only physically protected but also psychologically supported during future public health emergencies.
